About this project

MoveMentors is a directory and booking platform built for the long tail of the movement world: independent yoga, pilates, breathwork, dance, and meditation teachers, plus small one-to-four-room studios running 40 to 60 teaching hours a week. The premise is host-friendly by design. Teachers and studios list their classes, clients browse by city or discipline and book directly, and the host keeps one hundred percent of every class payment. The platform earns from flat-rate subscriptions and optional per-session boosts instead of taking a commission, which is the pitch that wins over part-time instructors and owner-operated studios burned by high-commission marketplaces. A lot is already built and running in production. Studios get a staff calendar with room conflict detection, a full instructor lifecycle covering employees and renters with pending, approved, rejected, and revoked states, and per-session instructor assignment. There is a space-rental marketplace where visiting teachers request and pay for studio time through Stripe Connect, with policy-aware cancellation refunds and idempotent webhook handling. Clients can self-reschedule within a mentor-configurable late window, book as guests without an account, and pay the host directly. The whole surface is localized across seven languages with transactional email in every locale. Under the hood it is a modern, well-kept Next.js 16 App Router codebase in TypeScript, with Prisma 7 over Postgres on Supabase, Stripe Connect for payments, NextAuth for authentication, Resend and React Email for mail, and Sentry for monitoring. It is unusually agent-ready for its size: a hosted MCP server exposes the platform to AI assistants, alongside machine-readable llms.txt and JSON-LD so models and search engines can discover and recommend hosts. It ships with direct end-to-end test runners and per-locale render checks, and it is actively maintained rather than abandoned.

Original vision

The opportunity is the underserved long tail that the franchise-focused booking tools ignore. A buyer inherits a working, host-friendly marketplace and a clear wedge: small studios and solo teachers who want to keep their payment revenue and do not want to fight enterprise software. The natural moves are to grow one metro at a time, since the directory, SEO pages, and llms.txt are already built to rank and to be recommended by assistants, then layer paid boosts and higher subscription tiers onto the free-to-host model, and lean into the space-rental marketplace that turns every studio with spare hours into supply for visiting instructors. Because it already speaks seven languages and exposes an MCP server, it is positioned for both international growth and agent-driven discovery, where a client's assistant books a class on their behalf. It suits a founder who wants a real, multi-sided product to operate and grow rather than a prototype to finish.

Why it's available

I built MoveMentors and it is live and working, but my strengths are on the engineering side rather than growth. I have not figured out how to promote it or bring in users, and marketing is honestly not something I am good at. Rather than let a finished, working platform sit idle, I would rather hand it to someone who can actually take it to market, grow the host base, and turn it into a real business.
