About this project

SkillSnak is a two-sided marketplace where experts sell "snacks" — bite-sized paid content — plus 1:1 help. Think a TikTok-style discovery feed meeting a Gumroad-style paywall, with a built-in upsell into paid sessions. Experts publish free teaser posts into a feed; each post links to a snack: a block-based document mixing Markdown text, syntax-highlighted code, photos and video, split by a movable paywall divider. Readers unlock the premium part for a one-time $3–5, or buy a 1:1 help session for $30–50 held in Stripe escrow until the session completes. The platform takes a 10% fee on every transaction through Stripe Connect (Express). This is a finished MVP, not a prototype. The Vue 3 + TypeScript frontend (~22,500 lines) covers a feed with infinite scroll, categories and search, a TikTok-style vertical video tab, a block editor built on CodeMirror 6 with 14 languages, a seller dashboard with earnings, purchases and sessions, in-app notifications, real-time chat for help sessions, and light/dark themes. The FastAPI backend handles Stripe Checkout, webhooks, escrow capture and cancel, and signed URLs for premium media. Supabase provides Postgres with 23 migrations and Row Level Security on every table, Google OAuth and storage. The whole product runs today at skillsnak.com in demo mode with play currency, so every flow can be tested without Stripe keys. The sale includes the skillsnak.com domain, the live deployment, an EU-grade legal pack (Terms, Privacy Policy and Impressum drafted for German and EU law: GDPR, DSA, digital-goods withdrawal rules), full product docs (roadmap, architecture, personas, user flows, marketing research), and a growth asset: a YouTube-creator scraper with a database of 689 tutorial channels (5k–50k subscribers, 109 with public emails) for supply-side outreach.

Original vision

SkillSnak sits between Gumroad, Fiverr and TikTok: creators monetize bite-sized knowledge through impulse-priced unlocks and upsell warm buyers into 1:1 sessions. Every piece of content is both a product and a funnel into higher-priced personal help, and the 10% platform fee scales with both sides. With the engineering already paid for, a new owner can put the entire budget into creators and distribution, starting with the included database of 689 YouTube creators.

Why it's available

The product is complete and deployed, but I ran into the classic marketplace chicken-and-egg problem: a two-sided platform needs experts on board before buyers show up, and buyers before experts commit. Cracking that takes a long, focused go-to-market push — creator outreach, community building, seeding the first hundred snacks — and as a solo developer my strength and interest lie in building product, not in months of supply-side sales. Rather than let a finished product sit idle, I'd rather hand it to someone with distribution, an audience, or the appetite for that grind. Everything technical is done and running at skillsnak.com — it needs an operator, not a developer.
